KURSARA PORT VIEW
Our humble guesthouse is named both after the views of the Grand Harbour and the legalised pirates of Malta during the time of the Knights of Saint John. This beautiful traditional building was owned by a sea captain, he was part of a group of Corsairs, or in Maltese Kursara. Sailing under the flag of The Knights of St. John, they were allowed to legally attack Turkish ships, plundering them in the time of war. They were also instrumental to help the Knights of Malta to win over the Ottoman Empire’s best fleet. This Turkish fleet was headed by the well known Dragut, when they tried to invade Malta in 1565 in what is remembered as the Great Siege of Malta.
Staying at Kursara Port View puts you right in the middle of all this history whilst enjoying the fantastic views of the Grand Harbour.
